dc.description.abstract | The paper gives an overview of types of forest plantations and their role in
sustainable development, with an emphasis on the definition of artificially
established (planted) forests and forest plantations. Forest plantations, the
most productive part of planted forests, play a significant role in
fulfilling the principles of sustainable development. Plantation forestry can
provide additional quantities of roundwood and fuelwood (including biomass),
additional products in the form of non-timber forest products and additional
services in the form of shelterbelts and phytoremediation. | en |
