Morfo-anatomske karakteristike četina različitih fenogrupa omorike

Abstract

Serbian spruce (Picea omorika Panč/Purkyine), like Balkan endemic species and terciar relict, is a great challenge for forestry and landscape architecture experts. Serbian spruce seed orchard at Godovik was found in 1986, established from 50 half-sib lines in five phenogroupes, with aim of selected seed production. On phenogroups level, within example of five genotypes, method applied in this study was analysis of morpho-anatomical characteristics of needles, which is a further step in Serbian spruce studies. The results of this study made very important starting base for further multiannual studies aimed at the estimate of needles structure variability of different phenogroups and of importance of needles biomass production level for farmaceutic and cosmetic industry needs.
