Abstract

According to relevant data on annual demand for wood doors and windows, the EU market can be considered one of the largest in the world. Although production in the EU satisfies most of the market needs, significant amount of wood doors and windows are imported from non-EU countries every year. Among these, China distinguishes itself from other member countries, as one of the EU's most significant foreign trade partners for most categories of wood products. For this reason, the paper represents the analysis of the role of China in the EU market supply with wood doors and windows. Except for the products listed above, the paper also deals with the role of China in the EU market supply with PVC and aluminum doors and windows. The reason for expending the research is that these products represent the biggest competition to wood windows and doors. Special attention was paid to the relevant European technical standards, which specify the values of particular properties of windows and doors.
