AB  - U radu je opisano novo nalazište maklena (Acer monspessulanum L.) na planini Boranji, u GJ "Istočna Boranja", iznad Roguljskog potoka, na grebenu Glogovita kosa. Maklen se pojavljuje na nadmorskoj visini od 460 do 480 m, na jugozapadnoj i zapadnoj ekspoziciji, na vrletnom nagibu od 45° do 50°. Površina nalazišta je 874 m2 , a koordinate centra nalazišta su: l=19°13'49,0" i ph=44°25'21,33". Na navedenom nalazištu maklen se pojavljuje u zajednici crnog graba i crnog jasena, a s obzirom da je zabeležen u sva tri sprata, a u spratu žbunja i prizemne flore pojavljuje se obilno, izdvojena je subasocijacija sa maklenom (Ostryo carpinifoliae-Fraxinetum orni subass. aceretosum monspessulanii). Po florističkom sastavu većina biljnih vrsta pripadaju submediteranskom flornom elementu, stoga ova zajednica predstavlja enklavu submediteranske vegetacije u pojasu kontinentalnih šuma bukve. Zajednica je azonalnog karaktera, uslovljena je orografsko-edafski, pojavljuje se na toplim ekspozicijama, na plitkoj i skeletnoj rendzini na oolitskim krečnjacima.
AB  - A new motpellier maple (Acer monspessulanum L.) site was described in this paper, located on mountain Boranja, in forest management unit "Istočna Boranja", above Roguljski potok, on Glogovita kosa ridge. Montpellier maple occurs on elevations between 460 and 480 m a.s.l., on southwestern and western aspect, on very steep slopes with inclination 45° to 50°. The site area is 874 m2 , and coordinates of site centre are: l=19°13'49.0" and ph=44°25'21.33". In this site, Montpellier maple occurs in a plant community of hop-hornbeam and manna ash, and considering that Montpellier maple was recorded in all three layers, and that it occurs abundantly in shrub and ground layers, a subassotiation with montpellier maple was set apart (Ostryo carpinifoliae-Fraxinetum orni subass. aceretosum monspessulanii). According to floristic composition, most plant species belong to the submediterranean floral type, so this community represents an enclave of submediterranean vegetation in the belt of continental beech forests. The community is of azonal character, orographically-edaphically conditioned, and occurs in warmer aspects, on shallow and skeletal rendzina on oolithic limestones.

AB  - U radu su opisana dva nova nalazišta vresa (Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull.) na području Nacionalnog parka "Đerdap", na plagioklasnom gnajsu i opodzoljenom kiselom smeđem zemljištu. Vres na novim nalazištima gradi zajednicu sa bukvom (Calluno-Fagetum moesiacae Cvj. 2003). Ova zajednica je floristički vrlo siromašna i edafski uslovljena. U spratu drveća i žbunja pojavljuje se samo bukva (Fagus sylvatica. subsp. moesiaca (Maly) Czeczott)), a u spratu prizemne flore dominira vres (Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull.). Prema spektru areal tipova u ovoj zajednici preovlađuju mezofilne biljne vrste srednjeevropskog areal tipa, a povećano je učešće kserotermnih biljaka submediteranskog areal tipa. Prema biološkom spektru ova zajednica je hemikriptofitska sa povećanim učešćem hamefita, što indicira pogoršane stanišne uslove. Prema vlažnosti zajednica je kseromezofilna, prema reakciji zemljišta je acidofilna, prema količini azota u zemljištu izrazito oligotrofna, prema svetlosti je polusciofilna, a prema toploti je mezotermna. Zajednica bukve i vresa predstavlja degradacioni stadijum bukovih šuma.
AB  - Two new heather (Calluna vulgaris (L.) Hull.) sites, located in Đerdap National park, on plagioclastic gneiss and podsolised dystric brown soil are described in this paper. Heather is the dominant species in the plant community with beech on these sites (Calluno-Fagetum moesiacae Cvj. 2003). This community is floristically poor and edaphically conditioned. Beech (Fagus sylvatica. subsp. moesiaca (Maly) Czeczott) is the only species in the tree layer, while heather dominates in the ground layer. According to the spectrum of areal types, mesic plant species of middle-European distribution type are dominant, with a significant share of plants of the xerothermous submediterranean distribution type. According to the biological spectrum, hemicryptophytes dominate in this community with a significant share of chamaephytes, which indicates deteriorated site conditions. According to the moisture requirements, the community is xeromesophillous, acidophillous according to soil reaction, according to the nitrogen content in soil it is highly oligotrophic, according to the light it is semi-tolerant, and according to the warmth requirement the community is mesothermic. The community of beech and heather represents a degradation stage of beech forests.

Floods on the river Belica at Jagodina, Serbia in 2014

AB  - In this paper, floods that occurred as a result of a cyclone were analysed. The cyclone generated rainfalls of high intensity. The flood wave on the river Belica was reconstructed by recording high water levels. Through subsequent recordings of the flow profile morphology, watercourse, and riverbed reach, the dimensions of the riverbed were defined. The total station TOPCON 3100M was used as a surveying instrument. Based on the registered traces of high waters and a combined method and application of Hec-Ras software, the flow capacity of the riverbed was determined, and meter readings on the flow profile of the watercourse were registered.

AB  - Soil erosion is a natural process, occurring over geological time and is essential for soil formation. The concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate is significantly increased by human activity. Soil erosion by water is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing the Globe, being equally challenging problem for the countries of the Balkan Peninsula, changing the quantity and quality of their water resources, reducing at the same time availability and use of fresh water. Most natural watercourses are approximately balanced with respect to sediment inflow and outflow. The dam construction dramatically alters this balance since the increased flow depth and decreased flow velocity of a reservoir, reduces the sediment transport capacity and causes settling. Reservoir sedimentation is a complex process that varies with watershed sediment production, rate of transportation, and mode of deposition. The importance of watershed management in relation to the sediment management has increased, as the number of dams and their ages increase. The paper presents the research of the sediments siltation intensity of the accumulation Duboki Potok in the Barajevska River Basin in Serbia, in the period from 1991 to 2015. The survey data are based on the origin of sediment accumulation and change of the accumulation storage subsequent to the sedimentation within the section of the accumulation. The research comprised the recording of the configuration of the bottom of the lake and determination of the current state of storage capacity, using the echo-sonar 'Garmin Echo-200' and the GPS receiver 'Topcon GMS-2' for the recording of the positions. The used equipment and the measuring method show promising results. The post-processing, once the measurement is transferred into the computer-graphic environment, will simplify further monitoring of the siltation of the studied accumulation.

AB  - Designing of forest roads involves the performance of many specific tasks. Each of the tasks requires the expertise and the use of appropriate tools. There are many computer programs that are used for designing public roads and forest roads. This paper shows the comparerison of the existing solution, the computer program »Cesta« (Road) and the modern computer module »Trasa« (Route). Possibilities of each tool are shown and their functionality is tested on specific examples. The computer program »Cesta« is often used in Croatia and its possibilities are very well known among designers of forest roads. The paper presents the main views (situation, longitudinal profile, cross sections), and additional tools that are rarely used for designing forest roads. Deficiencies cannot be removed because the computer program »Cesta« ceased to develop, and it is, therefore, difficult to adjust to possible changes in legislation and technical requirements for forest roads. On the other hand, the computer module »Trasa« is a new tool for us that is still evolving in line with the needs of the user. The paper describes the structure and function menus required for the master/detailed design of forest roads. The working principle is explained and new solutions are presented that can make the computer module »Trasa« a potentially better solution if its design methodology is adjusted to new technologies. Designers of forest roads have always made efforts to upgrade the quality of designing forest road, trying to introduce uniformity and standardization, and it is up to them to choose an appropriate solution.

AB  - Smooth movement of vehicles on forest roads necessarily requires widening of
   the traveled way in small radius curves. This paper presents the results of a
   comparison of two methods for determining the required widening of a forest
   road traveled way in small radius curves: the traditional method based on
   formulas and the traces curve method, obtained by simulating the movement of
   vehicles. Both methods were applied in the preparation of the Main project of
   reconstruction of the forest road “Rasadnik - Pustinac” with a length of
   5.285 km in the teaching base of the Faculty of Forestry “Majdanpečka
   domena”. In the project which determined the traveled way widening by the
   traces curve method, the total area of the surfacing was by 2.79% smaller
   than the area of the surfacing in the project which determined the widening
   using a formula. The width of the traveled way directly affected the scale of
   earthworks. In the first case, the volume of the cut was by 4.17% lower than
   in the second one. The volume of the filling decreased by 7.05%, and the
   amount of material needed for making the surfacing decreased by 2.94%. A
   smaller volume of earthworks and material required for pavement construction
   in the preparation of the Main project of reconstruction, in which the size
   of widening was calculated by the traces curve method, influenced the
   estimated value of reconstruction is lower by 3.34% than the total cost of
   reconstruction obtained in the preparation of the Main project of the same
   forest road reconstruction that calculated the widening size using the
   traditional method.

AB  - Soil erosion is a natural process, occurring over geological time and is essential for soil formation. The concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate is significantly increased by human activity. Soil erosion by water is one of the greatest environmental challenges facing the Globe, being equally challenging problem for the countries of the Balkan Peninsula, changing the quantity and quality of their water resources, reducing at the same time availability and use of fresh water. Most natural watercourses are approximately balanced with respect to sediment inflow and outflow. The dam construction dramatically alters this balance since the increased flow depth and decreased flow velocity of a reservoir, reduces the sediment transport capacity and causes settling. Reservoir sedimentation is a complex process that varies with watershed sediment production, rate of transportation, and mode of deposition. The importance of watershed management in relation to the sediment management has increased, as the number of dams and their ages increase. The paper presents the research of the sediments siltation intensity of the accumulation Duboki Potok in the Barajevska River Basin in Serbia, in the period from 1991 to 2015. The survey data are based on the origin of sediment accumulation and change of the accumulation storage subsequent to the sedimentation within the section of the accumulation. The research comprised the recording of the configuration of the bottom of the lake and determination of the current state of storage capacity, using the echo-sonar ‘Garmin Echo-200’ and the GPS receiver ‘Topcon GMS-2’ for the recording of the positions. The used equipment and the measuring method show promising results. The post-processing, once the measurement is transferred into the computer-graphic environment, will simplify further monitoring of the siltation of the studied accumulation.

AB  - Reservoir effects on floodwave transformation were calculated based on the concrete research. The procedure was based on the definitions of the distribution of inflow and outflow hydrograph time bases. The inflow-outflow hydrograph was divided into time intervals. The volume of inflow water in the reservoir was calculated for each interval, as well as the volume of water released from the reservoir. Lag time was calculated as the time between peak inflow to the reservoir and peak outflow from it at the spillway. The study analysis can be used as a guideline for the calculation of correct dimensions and the protection of earthfill dams from overtopping. In this way, especially in earthfill dams, a significant saving of material incorporated in the spillway parts is achieved, and general stability of earthfill dams is ensured. Based on the conducted research, it can be concluded that there is a transformation of the inflow floodwave through the reservoir. In the case when the reservoir is full, i.e. the elevation of water level in the reservoir at the moment of floodwave arrival is at the elevation of the spillway crest, the reduction rate of the outflow hydrograph is 25, 73%. Calculation is possible only based on the volume method or reservoir filling within a given time period. The increase in the water level at the spillway is in the function of inflow-outflow volume of water and the surface of water table in the reservoir.
